This story comes from Paul Stonehill.

In 1987 I, a former Soviet refugee and by then an American citizen, was commuting to work Downtown L.A. My job was boring, I sought adventures, and I was contemplating an offer to join a “special team” looking for Russian treasures hidden in the Namibian desert at the turn of the century. I loved adventure, and was about to say, and depart to Africa. Until I heard a lovely voice speaking Russian in the same bus. I saw a beautiful young girl, speaking to her relative, and approached her. She was a recent arrival from the USSR. I forgot Africa, and dated her, eventually marrying this girl, who gave me beautiful kids. The “special team” searched for the treasures, but was lost in 1988 in Namibia, never heard from again.
