bike accident beckons life’s work!

My fiance tells me he’s in love with some else, I am crushed, wailing like an animal to release the pain I feel in my heart. Through this discomfort my heart opens and I find my soul’s song. Up to this point, I ride my bike without hands on the creek path singing joyously. A fated bike ride on my teacher’s cruiser which I’m not familiar with while looking for hawthorne berries (the supreme remedy of the heart) ends with me splat on the road , going too fast and flew over handlebars…The metal bike basket nearly took my pinky finger with it. The nurse announces “Looks like we have an amputee”! I am a wounded warrior of the heart, pumped full of pain relieving drugs. Hurricane Katrina just hit that day , later that night a best friend Carrie, a vet tech tells me she’s in the airport and scared at what may happen as she goes to NOLA to volunteer with animals who are devestated. I reassure her all things happen for a reason and that she is brave and selfless. I tell her i love her and wish he well. After hanging up the phone, I put out to the universe ” I want to help others less fortunate with my training and skills”. The next day I receive an email from another good friend, which is a forward of a job opportunity as an Herbal specialist in West Africa~ My love of culture and travel plus my training as a clinical herbalist brings unfathomable excitement for this opportunity! This is the best example of instant manifestation for me in my life thus far, the secret at work! Good news~ I got it and embark on a life changing adventure which deepens my resilience, humility and brings true love and compassion into my heart for GOOD!

The Miracle of a Brain Tumor

The clock showed the time as 1:58 pm. I was waiting for the doctor.

He sat down and said from me. “No you are not pregnant, you have Acromeglia, a rare disease, and a brain tumor and my body was shutting down rapidly. The previous day, I was at work, teaching and counseling at-risk and mentally ill youth.
Reality was setting in; “This is really bad, I hate needles”. I wanted that tumor out of my head; it did not belong there. ; I never anticipated on that beautiful, spring day that a brain tumor could cause miracles to happen.
During this second surgery my miracle began to take shape.

A kind neighbor watched my 9 dogs, 2 cats, & horse. She refused money, I baked a batch of cookies to share “thank you”. She suggested that I market them and several other recipes that she had enjoyed. An postal employee began calling me ‘The Muffin Lady’ THE disease didn’t stop me from having a life!

Years passed, that horrid mass disappeared 8 years later, years later, another friend, suggested a cookbook. I listened to my heart and wrote, published, & entered it into some contest.

In Orebro Sweden on 2/11/05, the finest Culinary Writers in the world gathered to hear the winners for the world’s best cook and wine books. As winners were announced, I was shocked back to reality, my cookbook: Baking at High Altitude, was announced Best First Cookbook in the World, by Edouard Cointreau, President of Gourmand World Cookbook Awards.

I had no idea where my life was headed that day in 1991!. All I knew was that I had a lot of life to live and much heart to share. The tumor made me who I am today!

Good thoughts bring great things!

My story is we came here to LA from Florida to pursue my daughter’s career. We have been here since June 1st 2009. One thing after another started happening for her.She is an actress and a great singer. We kept having to move from place to place to meet our needs. I have three children 9, 3 and one year old. Finally, when i thought we were settled at the place we were staying at-we got a notice that were going to have to move again!!! Oh boy!!! what a hassle!!! I kept on thinking if only someone would be gracious enough to let us stay in one of their beautiful properties……..a week later that’s exactly what happened………i accidentally called the wrong number and a lady answered by the name of Arna. I thought i was calling a gentlemen by the name of Aron……I told her im so sorry i have the wrong number and she said whats your situation i can help you….she has been setting us up on her many beautiful peoperties since. So far we have been to palm springs home, Hollywood Hills Bel Air mansion, and a beach cottage right on the beach! Now we are in our cottage in Simi in the mountains-another one of her gorgeous properties. Its been never ending and a awesome experience! Then after our conversation she said her name used to be Aron! I totally believe in miracles and what you speak and think can come into existence…It did for us.
