Upon checking my email on a lazy afternoon five plus years ago, i noticed an email from an old friend of mine whom i was best friends with 7th thru 9th grade. She decided to finish her high school career in boarding school, and we saw each other maybe once when we were 20 years old – a fond memory of drinking beer, among other things in my very own, very first apartment in DC. The subject of her email was “DC.” And the body was very exciting. She went on to write that she was living in LA, was heading back to DC in a few weeks, and would love to reconnect with me when she was back there. Obviously, she thought I was still living there. I went on to write that I was living in LA, down in Venice, blah blah blah. It ended up that she was moving that weekend from silverlake, down to Venice, basically right around the corner from me!! And the rest, was/is history. Nothing like being reunited w an old friend…
